Councilmember Erik Nakano (San Dimas)

Born and raised in San Dimas, Eric Nakano pursued political science at George Washington University, later joining John Kerry's 2004 Presidential Campaign. He worked with the AFL-CIO, shifted to UCLA, and advocated against Prop 8. Recognized as Democrat of the Year for Assembly District 60 in 2010, he continued his education at Duke University, earning dual Master’s degrees.

Returning to San Dimas in 2016 to care for his mother and sister, he co-founded the San Dimas Community Post in 2020, fostering community engagement. In 2022, he made history as the first person of color and LGBT elected official on the San Dimas City Council, focusing on urban improvement, homelessness, and fiscal stability. He resides in San Dimas with his family and four adopted dogs, passionately serving his community.
