CUSD Superintendent Jim Elsasser

Our May General Membership meeting features CUSD superintendent Dr. James Elsasser whose career in public education spans more than 30 years. Dr. Elsasser is committed to excellence in education and is passionate about preparing students with myriad opportunities to thrive now and in the future through rigorous instruction, the integration of technology, and cultivating the development of the whole child.

Now in his 14th year serving as Superintendent, Dr. Elsasser was named Region 15 Superintendent of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators in 2017, for his visionary leadership and student-centered work. Since then, CUSD has earned multiple state and national accolades, including recognition in 2024 as both a California Green Ribbon School Green Achiever and a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School. In 2025, two CUSD schools were named California Distinguished Schools, further underscoring the district’s academic excellence.

There will be no club business to conduct at this meeting, but after Dr. Elsasser's presentation and discussion we will offer members an opportunity to engage in postcard writing to help GET OUT THE VOTE for the June primaries. We will also have yard signs for our endorsed candidates available for pick up.
